While I do have an obsession with chips and salsa, guacamole is right up there! And what’s even better is homemade guac from hand picked organic avocados. You can even bet that I’m all about the life at Chipotle, Mucho Gusto, etc.
While they do take a while to ripen, they are absolutely amazing when they are ready to eat! Not to mention, the benefits of avocado, such as the abundant of nutrients Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin C, Potassium, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin E. They actually contain even more potassium than a banana, are high in fiber, and lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels. The “good” HDL cholesterol increases when you consume this super healthy fruit. While they are great for the inside of your body, they are also great for the outside. Aside from bringing back freshness to your breath by killing the bad bacteria in your mouth and preventing oral cancers, they are pretty fabulous for your skin too! You can even use it as a face mask to hydrate your skin.
Now, here is a super simple recipe to make some healthy guacamole:
Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
1-2 serrano peppers
2 tbsp minced onion
1/3 cup chopped tomato
1/2 juiced lime
2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
pepper
salt
I got these Sea Salt Multigrain tortilla chips from Costco.
Mash it all together and bam!
Super easy, and good for you guacamole! Hopefully this gives you a little inspiration for your next taco tuesday! 😉
